OpenAI’s Text To Video Tool: Sora

Breaking news! Sora is a new AI model by OpenAI that creates 60 second videos generated from text.

Instantly I thought of my close friend, a talented singer struggling with music video budgets, I'm thrilled by how Sora will enable artists like her create video with her own creative prompts to visually amplify her songs on YouTube and across social media.

We Are Already Transhuman

We are already one with computer. We are already Transhuman. In this video I delve into the intriguing world of my favourite topic: transhumanism, exploring the intersection of human biology and cutting-edge technology. I discuss the idea of merging our bodies with computers, creating a seamless existence alongside machines. This concept goes beyond just futuristic notions like brain-computer interfaces, as seen in projects such as Neuralink and Synchron.

Modern Leadership: The Science of Noticing Others

As Modern Leaders, we have a responsibility to not make people feel invisible or unseen. Earlier this year, I spoke at Allianz about the importance of boosting the self esteem of peers by magnifying their strengths.

Social psychologists Morris Rosenburg and Claire McCullough wrote that "feeling noticed is the most elementary form of mattering.."

In my line of work (technology), I work with people of all diversities and backgrounds. I myself am also neurodiverse and struggle with dyslexia. I've found, by seeking out the talents of individuals and tailoring your leadership to magnify and highlight the best of each persona.

Can I Really Teach 500,000 People About AI? Yes!

This year I'm committed to upskilling 500,000 people in artificial intelligence. You might think that sounds like a long reach, but I don't.

Why am I making this public pledge? Most of you know I already work 50-70 hours a week running my AI and mental health tech company, Transhuman. So, am I mad?

The answer is yes, and no.

🙋🏼‍♀️ I believe access to the internet and basic technical fluency is a human right.

AI Will Enhance Our Work, Not Take Away From It

AI is going to help us get more people back into the workforce, in the roles where we need them the most.  Products like #ChatGPT will take us away from mundane tasks that we would spend hours on the computer doing and automate them.

This will enable us to:

👴🏻👵🏼 Create a bigger of workforce for looking after our ageing population and care for and educate our young.

I Trained ChatGPT To Help Me Create Relevant Content For My Mental Health Business

I trained ChatGPT to learn about the ethos behind one of my technologies, bealooper.com. This evidence base was created by one of my cofounders, Roy Sugarman.

At first I tried linking to the patent behind the app to teach ChatGPT, however it was too complex. I then shared a link to a page listing the science as evidence we use, then gave it some prompts.

Here is how the conversation (which took 2-3 minutes), went. I am very happy with the result. I have not edited the results in any way. I am 9/10 happy with the outcome.

You can head to openai.com to try for free. Do NOT share any non public information about yourself or your organisation.

The rise of women is not about the fall of men. By Amanda Johnstone

I remember growing up in an environment where often women who wanted to be successful had to act like an alpha males. In the 80s and 90s' we saw women in power suits and behaving more like their male bosses to climb up the leadership ladders. Fast forward to 2014, when I started building my most recent business, a technology company to help solve the global crisis of mental ill health. From the beginning, I planned to have a large team of advisors, cofounders, and investors who I could turn to with my blind spots and for support as this was my first time building a business of this scale.

AI Content Creation Tools: A 2023 Outlook

In the age of digital media, AI (Artificial Intelligence) has become an increasingly important tool for creators. From content creation to marketing and analytics, AI is helping creators to maximize their creative potential.

Here are five ways that I have identified how AI (that has traditionally helped major brands and organisations), can further support emerging creators like me:

1) Content Creation: Artificial intelligence can be used to generate unique content ideas or even create entire pieces of writing based on a given set of parameters (see ChatGPT and You.com). This allows even the most amateur content creators to quickly create new images, blog posts and other types of content without having to spend time researching or brainstorming themselves. In 2022, a wave of creators updated their profile pictures to an AI avatar version of themselves, using applications like Namesake by Brian Norgard.

Immediate content with just a few keywords and a click of a button. It also helps them produce more consistent work by providing them with a library of templates they can draw from when creating projects in the future. This type of content creation will soon extend to hyper-realistic video. Early examples of this include text to avatar service include Synthesia.

A rule of thumb, always edit the content and add your own flair!

In a Fragmented World, How do we Quantify Success?

How do we measure real success? By the impact we have on the lives of those we will never meet.

Privilege can lead us to believe intersectionality is a “theory” for others to solve; that advancement of equality in the human race at scale shall be up to someone / something greater.

Meaning, if we turn our back and focus on our own lives, the injustices, oppression or cries of the earth or the poor simply will not become our own problem.

I beg you to reframe your position on this.

Incentivising Innovation and Driving Change.

They say that necessity is the mother of invention. But how can businesses motivate their staff to bring innovative ideas to the table? Ms Johnstone says that in the tech space, bounties of cash rewards or equity are offered to employees who can solve complex problems.

“Bounties are traditionally created in technology companies for hackers outside of the company. A company will tell a group of hackers publicly, that if they manage to hack their system or application, they will receive a financial reward, known as a bounty,” she explains.

“Some of the most innovative companies in the world use bounties to encourage their teams to think differently, to think like an engineer. Others have internal incubators and hackathons for their teams, then commercialise the results, creating new product categories for their business. Give your employees the permission to share their ideas, however quirky they might be. Don’t take the glory for their ideas either – give your people the credit, recognise and reward them for innovative and entrepreneurial thinking.
