Purpose of the role
Your work will help make complex ideas accessible, spark curiosity, and grow an audience that wants to better understand emerging technology and its impact on our future.
About the engagement
This is a flexible, casual opportunity (4 - 8 hours per week) ideal for a sole trader or freelancer who thrives on variety and loves shaping ideas into polished, high-impact content. You’ll receive rough concepts (often via voice notes or emails) and transform them into daily social media posts, eye-catching graphics, and a weekly newsletter that drives engagement and learning. I travel extensively for work, so it does not matter where in the world you are based or the timezone you live in. If you’re the right fit, we can easily make it work.
Key responsibilities
Draft daily social media posts across Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter and pop them into a Google Drive for me to review.
Write clear, compelling copy in a fun yet credible, futuristic tone. I’ve created custom GPT’s to help with this.
Design on-brand graphics using Canva. I’ve created custom files to help with this, so there will be no guesswork.
Create and manage a weekly newsletter via Mailchimp.
Repurpose content ideas for different platforms and audiences, changing tone depending on the platform.
Resize content to its optimised for each platform using Canva or OpusClip.
Ensure captions are correct.
Ensure images and content have the correct SEO and metatags embedded.
Video editing.
Must have skills
Proficiency with Canva and Mailchimp and possibly tools like Opus Clip.
Familiarity with audiences on Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter.
Excellent written English, with strong attention to tone, grammar, and detail.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver to deadlines. Fast turnaround is key on content, as technology news moves quickly.
Reporting structure
You’ll report directly to me, collaborating closely yet working autonomously.
Engagement terms
This is a freelance position. You can work from wherever you are in the world. You’ll be engaged as a sole trader, not a member of staff. Remuneration will be fair and based on experience, with room to grow in the future (both in hours and with KPI’s). All of the licences for the tools listed in the position description for the role are already paid for and set up, so there is no further expense to you.
Who you are
You’re creative, organised, and proactive. You don’t need your hand held; you thrive on turning rough ideas into polished pieces that inform and excite people. A genuine interest in AI, technology, and future trends is highly valued.
Channel vibe
The tone is fun, futuristic, and credible, always aiming to make emerging technologies feel fresh, accessible, and thought-provoking. The content must not be solely created with AI (I can already do that myself), it needs to have a human in the loop.
Room to grow
As this educational channel grows, there’s plenty of scope to increase your hours and responsibilities. Should the relationship work well, there’s scope to move into further responsibilities working with my upcoming podcast and my book. I’m looking for someone who wants to grow with this mission, this is just the beginning.
How to apply
If you love creating future focused content that educates and inspires others to explore technology and AI, I’d love to hear from you. Please share your CV, a short note about why you’re a great fit, and examples of your social media or newsletter work.
